Maurizio Sarri gives injury update on key Chelsea duo ahead of Man United clash

Maurizio Sarri has confirmed that Antonio Rudiger is fit to face Manchester United on Sunday… but N’Golo Kante could be forced to sit out.

Rudiger hobbled off during the first-half of our 2-0 defeat to Liverpool earlier this month, but the injury has not proven to be as serious as it was first feared.

Sarri has now revealed to the press that the German is back in contention, but teammate Kante may only be able to watch from the sidelines. He’s quoted by Goal saying:

“Rudiger is okay at the moment. We are trying to recover Kante, but I am not sure at the moment.”

Kante suffered a back injury against Burnley, one which could prevent him from playing in what is arguably the biggest game of our season so far on Sunday.

The Frenchman has a good scoring record against United, having also netted before being forced to leave the field against Burnley on Monday night.

His omission would be a huge blow to our hopes of pulling off a result at Old Trafford, but we can’t afford to risk further damage with the importance of the games ahead.
