Chelsea hierarchy pave way for club legend to make fairytale summer return

Chelsea have reportedly paved the way for club legend Petr Cech to make a sensational return to Stamford Bridge upon his retirement from football at the end of the season.

Cech is without doubt the greatest goalkeeper ever to pull on our shirt. His performance in Munich was like no other we’ve ever seen from a Chelsea goalkeeper.

In the swansong of his Chelsea career, he played an influential behind-the-scenes role while acting as deputy to Thibaut Courtois in 2014/15. However, it fast became clear that his time at the club was done.

Roman Abramovich, presumably as a thank you gift for his exemplary service, allowed him to sign for direct Premier League rivals Arsenal, who he’ll be leaving at the season’s end.

Cech, in the hunt for a new endeavour, looks to be on the verge of returning home. The Telegraph report that Chelsea have prepared a position for the four-time Premier League winner.

It’s believed that Cech’s proposed role could include aspects of Michael Emenalo’s former responsibilities, with Chelsea having not replaced the Nigerian at the time of writing.

Cech is an incredibly intelligent man, who’s absolutely adored by the fanbase. We’ll all feel in much safer hands if someone that we trust and know loves the club is liaising with Marina Granovskaia.
