Chelsea release Bayern Munich refund information after confirming game to be played without fans

The spread of the Coronavirus has become rapid worldwide and has started to effect a large number of sporting events.

As well as concerns that the Premier League could soon be played behind closed doors without any supporters being allowed in the stadium, The Champions League have already made that decision for the next string of games at least.

Chelsea travel to Bayern Munich next week for their Champions League match, and it has already been confirmed that the game will be played behind closed doors, so Chelsea fans will have to stay at home.

The club have confirmed this on their website, and have offered up some information on gaining refunds.

They say that fans who purchased a ticket for the game from the club will receive a refund. Those who paid by credit or debit card will receive the refund within 10 working days to the original card used. If you paid by cash then the club will contact you to arrange a refund.

However, fans that have arranged independent accommodation and travel arrangements, they will need to contact those companies themselves about any possible refunds.

Presently there are no restrictions on Chelsea fans attending our Premier League match at Aston Villa on Saturday.
