Chelsea plotting move for Serie A left back this window

Chelsea have been fairly inactive in the January transfer window so far, but it looks as if they are starting to make some moves at least.

There is a fairly obvious pursuit of PSG striker Edinson Cavani, as has been reported by many reliable sources.

But there has also been talk of a left back arriving at the club this summer, with Lampard becoming unhappy with his current options. Marcos Alonso has grown out of favour, Emerson isn’t really performing, and Cesar Azpilicueta is naturally more right sided.

The Express report that Chelsea are ‘plotting a move’ to sign Atalanta left back Robin Gosens this window.

25-year old Gosens can also play in midfield, and has been gaining plaudits in the Serie A this season putting in some great performances.

Many believed that Chelsea’s left back target is Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell and they will wait until the summer to make that move. However, they might need to act sooner.
