‘He’s very happy here’ – Chelsea winger gives his take on Eden Hazard situation

Chelsea winger Pedro has given his take on the situation surrounding Eden Hazard at Stamford Bridge.

If the transfer ban is to be upheld, Chelsea’s sole focus this summer could be on preventing their star man from signing for Real Madrid.

So much has been said about the potential move, from discussion over transfer fees to potential part-exchanges. Ultimately, it’ll come down to one thing – Hazard’s will.

If he wants to sign for Real Madrid, we are virtually powerless from preventing it. His contract expires in the summer of 2020, giving him the chance of a straightforward escape.

That’s only if that’s what his heart desires, however. He’s playing his cards close to his chest, which even appears to have left his teammates in the dark.

Pedro, who has played alongside Hazard since 2015, has been quoted by Calciomercato revealing that he has no idea whether Hazard’s intention is to leave:

“He’s very happy here. He’s totally focused on Chelsea. But I don’t know what’s going to happen. He’s our most important player, he wants to win the Europa League and finish in the top 4 in the Premier League.”

We hope that this is a reflection of how focused the dressing room is on the task at hand. They’re not letting themselves be distracted by outside influences.

The Hazard situation can be tended to at a later date. It’s his, and the team’s, responsibility to get us back into the Champions League.
