Chelsea’s Eden Hazard closes in on eclipsing Premier League greats in this area

Eden Hazard is one of the greatest players in Premier League history – and the number of PFA Player of the Year nominations he’s received is testament to that.

Hazard may well be playing his last ever season as a Chelsea player. His contract expires in the summer of 2020, which leaves the door open for a summer escape.

Even if he does depart, the way in which he’s viewed by the Chelsea faithful will not be skewed. He’s done far too much for us over the years.

The Belgium captain has played a starring role in two Premier League title triumphs and has been the driving force of our top four push this term.

We dread to think where we’d be without him…

After another superb campaign, Hazard received a PFA Player of The Year nomination. It has to be said, Virgil Van Dijk and Raheem Sterling are the favourites.

However, as shared on Reddit by u/thegardenofeden10, it took his number of all-time nominations up to five, which is two more than Cristiano Ronaldo!

The only two players who boast more are Thierry Henry and Steven Gerrard on six. You have to think that, if Hazard opted to stay, he’d smash the record.

Either way, it’s commendable!
