The reason why Gareth Southgate will be watching Liverpool v Chelsea tomorrow

England manager Gareth Southgate will be at Anfield tomorrow afternoon to see Callum Hudson-Odoi feature for Chelsea against Liverpool, according to the Express.

Hudson-Odoi received a call-up to the England squad last month after several senior players were forced to withdraw through injury.

The 18-year-old was immediately given an opportunity to shine by Southgate – and boy did he make the most out of it.

There is now little doubt in our mind that CHO will be called up for the next England squad and will likely never leave – such is the talent he possesses.

Southgate will be wanting to keep a close eye on his development, though, and will be doing so in Liverpool for tomorrow’s crunch match.

Chelsea visit Liverpool with the simple task of halting their title charge, and the Express believe that Southgate will be there – to watch Hudson-Odoi.

Of course, there will be plenty of other English representation in the game, but none more promising than the man of the moment.

Let’s hope Maurizio starts him, else it could be a wasted trip for Southgate!
