‘Adrien is a prisoner!’ – Chelsea linked as player’s mother slams PSG treatment

Adrien Rabiot – there’s a name which has dominated the backpages of European newspapers over the past year or so.

His contract with Paris Saint-Germain is ticking down towards it’s climax. If either side was seriously interested in extending their relationship, there would surely have been more movement on that front by now.

Rabiot’s perspective appears to be clear as day, at least that’s if he shares the same views as his mother. Mother Rabiot has conducted an explosive interview with French outlet L’Equipe, where she’s quoted saying:

“Adrien is a prisoner! He is even held hostage by PSG. Soon it will be dry bread, water, and a dungeon! This environment is cruel.”

Perhaps it’s a little dramatic, but you can’t knock a mother for defending her son to death. Her comments have left the door wide open for a club to come and rescue Rabiot – could it be Chelsea?

Calciomercato have mentioned us as an interested party, with AC Milan, Manchester United, Bayern Munich, and of course, Barcelona being linked.

The 23-year-old, who was briefly a member of Manchester City’s academy, would be a useful addition for Maurizio Sarri, though any potential move would depend on whether the club are able to make transfers this summer.

Let’s keep an eye on this one.
