That’s a pretty impressive record in itself, but an interesting wrinkle in that is that the veteran defender had never scored a goal in his favoured competition – until yesterday that is.
The newly arrived Derby County left back found the net for the first time in the cup at the ripe old age of 36.
Who says you can’t teach an old dog new tricks? Ashley is still learning now, with Frank Lampard as his coach. What a world we’re living in…
