One major criticism of Chelsea and Mauricio Pochettino this season has been that there’s a real lack of a plan tactically.
We know vaguely what shape they’re going to line up in, but beyond that it’s a bit of a mess. Sometimes they’re intensely pressing, sometimes not. Sometimes they’re trying to play wide, other times through the middle.
Is this poor planning from Pochettino or poor execution from the players? There’s still some debate. But no coherent shape has really started to form yet.
