Gonzalo Higuain’s horrific stats from another poor performance

Gonzalo Higuain has been under pressure at Chelsea.
After some pretty poor performances recently, combined with Olivier Giroud finding form for France and for us in the Europa League, some have said that Higuain’s place in the team should be under threat.
His showing yesterday will only strengthen those arguments. He was really dire, and WhoScored’s ranking system gave him just a 5.8, by far the lowest on the pitch.
He missed sloppy passes, couldn’t lose his man or find space, let alone get a shot away. He wasn’t helped by a poor team effort with low tempo and no real threat until Eden Hazard came on later in the game. but it still wasn’t good enough.
Giroud looks more confident at the moment, and we should go with him in the next game. Higuain just doesn’t look up to it, and the worse he played the more often he dropped deep and moved further from the goal.
