Chelsea’s senior team may be struggling, but the youth are doing just fine in the UEFA Youth league.
After going 2 goals down to Dinamo Zagreb, they’ve grabbed two thanks to Luke McCormick.
It’s the kind of inspired European performance our U19s are becoming known for these days. He turned in from an inspired cross to send the game to penalties.
Having missed a long spell with injury, the captain’s performance was a joy to behold.
Some great spot kicks – including a confident opener from who else but McCormick – later, and Chelsea were through to the semi final.
Let’s hope the men can put in a similar battling performance in the game against Brighton later tonight, in the Premier League.

2-2: McCormick at the double with a looping header. Great work from Gallagher who had two crosses as pressure mounted on Dinamo. What a half of football this is. #CFC #CFCU19 https://t.co/JUd7QIp8nb
