If someone were to ask you who the best player in Chelsea training is, we’d imagine that the only reasonable choice would be Cesar Azpilicueta.
The de facto captain is the kind of guy who works his feet to the bone in every session, but he wasn’t the one picked out by Ethan Ampadu when he was asked by the club on their official website to pick out someone who’s really been grafting in the last week.

Instead he plumped for Gonzalo Higuain, saying he’s been “really impressed by his finishing” since the Argentine arrived in January.
Perhaps that finishing just looks so good because Ampadu has been watching Giroud and Morata for a year now? Either way, we’re delighted that GH is looking sharp, and he hope that we can give him a few more chances come this weekend.
Consecutive thrashings have not exactly given him the chance to shine, but as long as he keeps working in training as he clearly is, he will get his rewards.
