(Image) – Former Chelsea striker criticises reactionary takes on Nicolas Jackson

Former Chelsea striker Demba Ba has leapt to the defence of Nicolas Jackson and criticised the reactionary takes on the 22-year-old.

Jackson scored twice in Chelsea’s 5-0 win over West Ham at Stamford Bridge on Sunday afternoon to take his tally in the Premier League to 13 goals.

The Senegal international has matched Didier Drogba’s first season tally of 16 in all competitions, with three games remaining this season.

However, despite having a very good first campaign Jackson has been branded as a striker who can’t finish, where as Kai Havertz, who has one less league goal is completely revamped under Mikel Arteta.

Ba took to X to give his support to Jackson and criticise the reactionary takes citing how people said he was a bad footballer a few weeks ago after missing a few chances, and now he’s suddenly great again.

Jackson set himself a target of 15 Premier League goals, and is just two shy of that with three games remaining, starting with Saturday’s trip to Nottingham Forest.
