“We dominated” – Ten Hag and Pochettino completely disagree on Chelsea United result

Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino and Manchester United manager Erik Ten Hag completely disagree upon analysing the Chelsea vs Manchester United game last night.

It was easily one of the craziest games of football I have witnessed in MANY years. Chelsea were 2-0 up in the first half and should have gone in at 45 minutes with the game over and done. But United turned it around to go 3-2 up against Chelsea for a huge chunk of the game. There was 8 added minutes given, but it went over that and on 99 minutes United were still 3-2 up. That was until Chelsea got awarded a penalty, equalised, and then scored a winner just seconds later to go off 4-3 winners. It was pure madness.

EXCLUSIVE! Chelsea add new striker name to summer shortlist and still hold Dusan Vlahovic interest!

Pochettino says that his team were the deserved winners, but Ten Hag disagrees and says that it was his team that dominated! I guess they both see it very differently then!

“We dominated the game, especially our wide players,” Ten Hag said after the game.

“It was amazing because we deserved it,” Pochettino said. “We were the better team and it was fair to score in the last minute. We started the game really well and the game was under control. We then made a mistake which had an emotional impact and it wasn’t easy to deal with this. In the second-half, we controlled the game and then conceded in transition.”

  1. Even if you grant that Utd held the lead late, their xG was well below ours and there’s just no way Ten Hag can claim (with a straight face) that his side “dominated.” He’s a drowning man about to get the sack and he’s try to “spin” this result to save some face—and it’s not fooling anyone.

Both sides weaknesses were on full display, but Utd’s were the more glaring and least forgivable. Chelsea’s mostly flow from youthful naïveté, whereas Utd has some experienced players, but lacked the grit and the wherewithal to kill the game off. They looked a shambles in the final minutes and their defending on the final corner was simply unforgivable if you’re a Utd fan (which thank GOD none of us are, lol!).
