While everyone in Europe was getting ready for bed on a Sunday night, Chelsea loanee Kendry Paez was scoring in the Ecuadorian league playoff final second leg.
His Independiente del Valle took the lead over LDU Quito when the teenager strode through midfield and hit a powerful strike into the bottom corner.
Sadly, in the end Independiente were taken to penalties and missed all their kicks (with Paez on the bench) to let the league slip away.
Paez will fly to train with Chelsea next week now his season with IDV is over.
