Chelsea have recruited many top talents in the last few transfer windows since the new owners came in, but it’s not just about that according to one current Chelsea player today.
We’ve seen the club completely rebuild the squad, especially over this summer. There aren’t many players who even survived from last season let alone more distant seasons. It’s been gutted and reformed entirely.
But now they have all these new players and a new manager, they must put it all together to start trying to win things again and challenge up the top of the league, something that they got far from doing last season.
Winger Noni Madueke says that it’s not just about recruiting talented players, it’s about creating a winning mentality in the group and challenging to win trophies again.
As cited on the Chelsea website today, Madueke said: “It’s not just about recruiting talented players. It’s about making a winning team, and that is the next step we have to take this season. Silverware is so important to Chelsea and that is the direction we have to head in for sure.”
Well he’s not wrong there and often knows the exact right things to say.
