Telegraph: Chelsea to go sponsor-less vs Liverpool but confident of announcement

Chelsea are likely to be playing their opening game of the new Premier League season without a sponsor on their shirts!

It’s pretty unheard of, especially for a top club of Chelsea’s calibre, but it genuinely looks like happening now with Chelsea no closer to confirming a new front of shirt sponsor for the upcoming campaign.

Sources: Chelsea plan to sign new attacking midfielder, with Dewsbury-Hall and 4 others being looked at!

However, there is confidence on Chelsea’s side that they will soon get on announced, and they are playing the long game rather than rushing in it order to make sure they get the right deal and the right company.

The Telegraph report Chelsea remain confident they will find a new front of shirt sponsor, even though time is running out to prevent the club kicking off the season without one.

Chelsea are in negotiations with companies over taking over from Three as the club’s main front of shirt sponsor.

Rather than rushing through a deal in time for Sunday’s opener against Liverpool, Chelsea are focused on securing the best-possible deal.

Chief executive officer Chris Jurasek has been put in charge of landing a new sponsor and does not want to compromise the quality of the deal to secure one as quickly as possible, as Chelsea believe that doing so could set an unwanted benchmark for future sponsorship negotiations.
