“I plan to play” – Mauricio Pochettino drops major hint on Liverpool starting Xl

Chelsea drew 1-1 against Borussia Dortmund last night in the USA as both sides concluded their pre-season campaign ahead of the new season starting.

Chelsea’s new campaign starts next weekend against very tough opposition in the shape of Liverpool. But they have prepared very well with a good pre-season, going unbeaten in all five games. There is a chance that there might be one last game played behind closed doors before the Liverpool game, but Mauricio Pochettino has dropped a huge hint on what his starting Xl could be vs Jurgen Klopp’s side.

Sources: Latest on Kudus, Olise, Broja, Madueke, and Chalobah!

It looks like the line up he started against Dortmund with, could pretty much be the same one he starts against Liverpool, judging by his post-match comments on the players he picked at least.

On his starting XI vs Dortmund, Pochettino said: “This was about giving 90 minutes to the team in my head that I plan to play because the season is only 10 days away.”

That’s very interesting, and it was probably his strongest Xl that he had available last night. So we will see what the team looks like next weekend.

  1. Stirling need to go. Might as well play an “inexperience” guy on the wing. I never rated him ànyway. He just played in an excellent city team where people looked at a team and not individuals
