“Get rid of him!” – Chelsea legend wants to see current Blue sold after ‘tricky situation’

There are some situations that Chelsea need to deal with this summer, and crunch time is fast approaching for one of them.

Chelsea will reportedly sit down and speak to Romelu Lukaku after he has played for Inter Milan in the Champions League final, in order to discuss his future and what he wants to do. There has been some suggestions that new manager Mauricio Pochettino might be open to having Lukaku back in his squad, but I don’t think Lukaku would be overly keen on coming back.

Does he have a place back at Chelsea? Blues legend Frank Leboeuf thinks not.

Writing in his latest exclusive and extensive Chelsea FC column for Si & Dan Talk Chelsea today, the legend said: “I think he knows he wont be successful here so he’s already said he doesn’t want to come back. I think he’s already made up his mind, so he shouldn’t come back. If you don’t want to play for a club anymore then don’t play, and the club has to do everything to get rid of him. I know he was a lot of money, but get rid of him because he doesn’t want to be here. Fans will be resentful, so as soon as he plays poor he will be booed and there will be a big dramas, so what’s the point? Try to get rid of him, shake hands and say goodbye, that’s it. I wish him the best; I love Lukaku, and I really hope that he will be successful and hopefully he will find his happiness at Inter, and we can get somebody else.”

It’s hard to disagree with this to be honest. Would anyone really want a player who blatantly does not want to be here anymore? I certainly would not. It would only work IF he wanted to come back, and he clearly does not.
