Frank Lampard was asked after the game today how his team compared to Man U, who cruised to a 4-1 win.
First he pointed to how vicious they are at the top end of the pitch.
But he also noted their “experience” and “nous” in defence which made a difference.
In the end though, it was nothing to do with Manchester United. Chelsea had the best chance of the game after 5 minutes but Mykhailo Mudryk fluffed it. After that the home team scored, and it was game over, despite some great chances for us.
Their nous and experience didn’t make our winger miss his shot – that was just panic and inexperience on our part.
