(Video): Aubameyang decision should be “taken away” from managers

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang started for Chelsea last Tuesday, played 45 minutes, was subbed off then dropped from the squad for the weekend’s game.

It was an extreme reaction to a bad performance, but frustratingly for Chelsea fans it was one we could have predicted. In the space of one season we’ve seen 3 managers come to the same conclusion with Auba. So why waste our time watching each new manager figure it out?

On Talksport, Tony Cascarino said decisions like these should be “taken away” from managers and dealt with by the sporting directors as a policy matter. We rather like that idea – it would save us all from the new coach going through the same motions again this summer.
