Mauricio Pochettino’s Chelsea start date revealed but has chance to win trophy first

A date has been revealed when Mauricio Pochettino is set to start work as the new permanent Chelsea manager, but he has a chance to win a trophy first!

According to a report from The Sun, Pochettino is set to start work officially at Chelsea on July 1 but beforehand will take charge for the UNICEF charity match against England at Old Trafford on June 11.

Sources: Mauricio Pochettino asks some of Frank Lampard’s current staff to stay on at the club!

Pochettino’s return to the dugout will be at Manchester United instead of Chelsea when he manages the World XI at Soccer Aid.

Pochettino said: “It is a real pleasure to be part of a match that represents a big cultural moment in this country’s annual calendar – and rightly so, because it raises so much money for Unicef.

“I love English football stadiums, the passion the fans show for the game and the atmosphere they create, so it will be great to feel that again next month.”

Pochettino will coach former Argentina team-mates Gabriel Batistuta and Hernan Crespo, as well as sprinter Usain Bolt, Francesco Totti and ex-Manchester United stars Patrice Evra and Nani.

It will be a chance for Pochettino to win a trophy before he officially starts he role as Chelsea manager and the real hard work begins!

  1. I don’t know why they are extending his employment. Lampard was a big mistake. The interim coach that managed Chelsea against Liverpool is far better than Lampard. It is a shame that some set of people have hijacked Chelsea and making some strange decisions that affect the club negatively.
