Fabrizio Romano mentions ‘some of the names’ Chelsea like this summer

Whilst every Chelsea fan will be waking up full of gloom once again this Thursday morning after another terrible defeat, minds will also start looking towards the summer when this horrific season is finally over.

The summer also represents a time where Chelsea can do something that they massively need to do, and that is do trim down the massive squad they have, which has caused so many issues.

But as well as this, we know they will also be looking to sign one or two new players themselves, potentially even more.

The midfield has been considered one of the priority areas that the club owners want to address again, but transfer expert Fabrizio Romano says a lot will now depend on what the new manager wants, writing in today’s exclusive Daily Briefing for CaughtOffside.

Romano has also mentioned two names that the club are interested in – Southampton’s Romeo Lavia, and Borussia Monchengladbach’s Manu Kone.

“I already mentioned in the last two months some of the names they like, including Romeo Lavia and Manu Kone. But the decision will be made with the new coach, likely to be Pochettino. It’s not a two players race between these two, it’s something absolutely open,” Romano explained.
