Former captain says Chelsea’s season is over and club need ‘to get rid of some players’

We have all seen just how much Chelsea have been struggling this season, or at least on the lead up to the World Cup break.

After a fairly decent start to his Chelsea tenor, Graham Potter has seen Chelsea’s form slip and performances not up to standard at all. The break has been needed by Chelsea and they will hope that they can now attack the second half of the season and make something of it.

EXCL: Chelsea approached Neymar’s camp whilst at the World Cup!

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf though, believes it will be too little, too late, and he says that Chelsea’s season is effectively over already after they dropped to 8th place in the Premier League table.

The former Chelsea captain is often very honest and up front when speaking on Chelsea, and there isn’t really a lot of the below comments that Chelsea fans will argue right now. I think he’s made some great point below:

In quotes picked up by Football London, Leboeuf says: “I think Chelsea’s season is effectively already over. They can’t win the title, they can’t compete with Manchester City that’s for sure. We have to respect Arsenal also even if I think Man City will finish top of the league.

“I don’t even see Chelsea finishing in the top four because of the way they were playing. I think we have to give time to Potter to rebuild something, and to correct all the errors that they made in terms of signing players.

“I won’t name names but for sure you have to get rid of some players in order to make room for others. And that’s what they must do next summer. Let’s call this season a blank season and prepare for next year with Nkunku, Gvardiol and some others.”

  1. Yes, we need to get rid of some players.
But the season, it’s not over.
    Respect Chelsea FC, you weasel!!!

  2. You might be right about season being over for Chelsea or wrong of your speculations. Missing key players means a lot to every successful team. Notwithstanding, I am optimistic of Chelsea finishing in top 4. It’s obvious it’s a big task ahead but it is never an impossible task.
