Jason Cundy has just been on his TalkSport, and today he chose violence. After Brazil’s win last night, he claimed that Neymar is the “most overrated player ever” and that he wouldn’t get into this England team.
He added that he’d rather have Mason Mount in his side than Neymar.
We absolutely love Mason – he’s the first name on our teamsheet even when he’s out of form. And we also understand that Neymar sometimes flatters to deceive – but this is a crazy point you’d only hear on TalkSport for clicks.

Say, speaking of Mount, I think his teammate Pulisic had the slightly better performance in their WC matchup. 😉
I’ve seen a lot of moaning among British commentators about Southgate as the problem (every England fan of course believing they should have won), but the squad he fielded was still supposedly far superior on paper to the US. And yet, after the opening 20 mins, England had its hands full. Indeed, I thought the US midfield three just flat outplayed England’s, and, but for the fact that the US lacks a world-class striker to provide that one all-important finish, they probably had the better chance of winning the game.
I’d say English fans who are upset with the result overestimate the quality of their side, but it’s probably more accurate to say they still underestimate the quality this latest generation of Americans possess.
