Player now ‘a bit more settled at Chelsea’ and is liked by Potter and Boehly

Todd Boehly and Graham Potter are in agreement with one Chelsea player in particular, a player whose future is not so clear right now.

Chelsea have a few players that we could say that about right now, with many unsettled.

Sources: Chelsea back in for Inter Milan defender!

Kai Havertz is certainly one of those players that we could say that about recently, but according to reports, he is starting to feel a bit more settled and happier at Chelsea these days under Graham Potter.

Si & Dan Talk Chelsea report that Havertz has become a bit more settled at Chelsea and is happy here, but his future is still unclear. Todd Boehly, the Chelsea board, and Graham Potter, all like Havertz and really want to make it work for him here.

Havertz was not really enjoying it under Thomas Tuchel and has had recent interest from Bayern Munich, who according to the report, are expected to move back in for him next summer.

  1. “Like” him for what? He scores a pretty goal every once in a while, but the numbers don’t lie. He’s got 3 goals and 0 assists in almost 900 minutes! I think he’s incredibly talented, but his best position is as a #10, not a straight up #9, and we’re unlikely to get the best out of him unless Potter overhauls the current system. Given that the squad is mostly made up of players brought in to play a 3-4-3 (or similar variant), it’s not at all clear to me what is “likable” about a player who hasn’t been able to show he fits well into that system. Potter has shown he’s willing to be highly flexible tactically, but it’s been quite obvious at times that his players are by no means equally comfortable in all of his many formations. So, maybe Havertz is very “likable” as a person or from an aesthetic standpoint as a footballer, but I’ve seen precious little to “like” in the actual results he’s produced this season. Is somebody seeing something I’m not?

    1. I totally agree witth you. There’s not much positive returns he provide to the squad. Maybe, the solution is to change tactics or whatever the manager could come up with but we are not getting the best our of this squad.

  2. Make Kante settled as well. Do not discard him just because of injuries. He won’t be under such situations for ever . He is a high level player that we can afford to lose

  3. Kante is one of the best players Chelsea had , we cant afford to lose such player who can read the game and make possible gaps close for any opponent.. please extent his contract and make him pleased at Chelsea….
