Chelsea set ‘to open preliminary talks’ for January signing

Chelsea are set to open talks to make their first signing of January, but they face stern resistance from the player’s club.

The Blues have plans in place to add to the ranks in the winter window initially, and then again in the summer. And it looks like Todd Boehly and co have some specific players in sight.

Sources: Big positive Declan Rice to Chelsea update!

One of them is former Graham Potter player at Brighton, Leandro Trossard, and a report today suggests they are about to talk to the player about a move.

Footy Insider reports that Chelsea are ready to open preliminary talks with Leandro Trossard ahead of a concerted new year swoop.

Chelsea will hold early talks with Trossard’s camp as they set their sights on getting an agreement in place.

However, they also state that Brighton at the moment, are not willing to sell the player in January, but they face losing him as a free agent in the summer.

  1. Will we still be called C.F.C. with more people coming from his old club. Our identity will be lost if all the mates of this coach finish up with us. I assume they will change from Seagulls to The Gannets !!!!!!!!!!!

  2. just as the club (chelsea) looses their standard from d Abromavich era, expect them to lose also in caliber of players, staffs, youtht & even fans. Indeed, politics had cheated this club 4ever.
