Conor Gallagher got a surprising number of minutes early in the season thanks to injuries to N’Golo Kante and Mateo Kovacic, but it didn’t really go to plan.
A red card and a role in some unfortunate defeats might have cost him, but a change of manager means a clean slate, and he couldn’t have made a brighter start for Graham Potter than he did, scoring a late winner against Crystal Palace at the weekend in the manager’s first Premier League game.
Potter refused to be drawn on whether Gallagher would play tomorrow, but he was very positive about the player’s efforts so far.
