We covered Gab Marcotti’s take on the potential arrival of Cristopher Freund at Chelsea, so it’s only fair we get his take now that the Red Bull Salzburg man has announced he’s turned the job down.
Marcotti was typically withering in analysing the suit’s excuse that he had to worry more about his current club.
“What more important things does he have to do?” Marcotti questioned sardonically. As he points out, the transfer market is closed and Salzburg could walk to the title for a 37th consecutive time even if they replaced Freund with a stuffed toy.
