Graham Potter will help Chelsea hire a “world class” sporting director before WC

According to reports, one of the first tasks that new Chelsea manager Graham Potter will be involved with, is helping chose a sporting director for the club.

Potter was announced as the new Chelsea manager last night, just a day after the sacking of Thomas Tuchel. This would suggest that it has been in the works for a few weeks and the decision had been made some time ago.

The club are looking at Potter for their long-term project and want him to have a hand in who the new sporting director will be.

According to The Telegraph, Work has already started on finding a “world class” permanent sporting director. Potter will help to choose the successful candidate with the club talking to people with Premier League experience and others who have worked on the continent.

Chelsea want the sporting director in place before the World Cup in November to give him plenty of time to prepare for the January transfer window.
