But the Blues got the job done in the end, and at full time the Chelsea TV interviewers were eager to ask about how he thought his debutants got on.
Tuchel was pleased with all three, saying that Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly got on well, and that it was only their conditioning that let them down towards the end.
He also pointed to Marc Cucurella, who had an impressive debut as a sub later on.
