ESPN’s pundits looked back at the Chelsea match against Everton which was given the prime time Saturday slot – a decision the broadcasters probably regret now.
They called the game “terrible” and it’s hard to disagree. A half-baked Chelsea faced a half-fit Everton, and neither side were able to produce much attacking fluency or defensive intensity.
Winning 1-0 from a penalty, after some genuinely dire defending, was a pretty appropriate way for a poor game to be decided.
Let’s hope we’re looking more fluid next week – we will need to be.
