Chelsea have missed the deadline to sign one player this transfer window, according to the manager of the club at least.
I don’t think you can ever fully rule something out during a transfer window, but it looks quite clear now that Anthony Gordon will not be arriving at Stamford Bridge this summer. At least that is according to Frank Lampard, who said last night that the deadline has now passed if Chelsea wanted to sign the England U21 international.
Everton were in action last night and Gordon scored. And then once again, after the game, Lampard was quizzed on the situation with Gordon and Chelsea’s interest.
As you can see from the quotes below, Lampard says he is confident that Gordon will be an Everton play come Friday morning and the deadline for Chelsea to sign him has already passed.
More on Gordon. "Deadline (to decide to sell him) has passed. He’s too important a player, he’s shown his worth. What good what it do us to do anything with Anthony now?" #efc #cfc

Lampard on Gordon: "“I’m very confident (he’ll be our player)." #efc #cfc
On Gueye: "It’s getting closer. We’re hopeful it will happen.”

Chelsea will have to throw in a ridiculous offer, or turn their attentions elsewhere.
TT.. knew he needed a striker..
What has he done?.. nothing.
He got defenders..how many goals we let in, games we lost to teams we should beat…
He blames players for not trying…what a laugh..
TT..Time to go…
