“He sacrifices himself” – Conor Gallagher gets rave reviews after Arsenal win

Last night was all about Conor Gallagher, the on-loan Chelsea midfielder currently balling at Crystal Palace.

Chelsea fans were watching on in delight as he helped his team thrash Chelsea’s local rivals Arsenal in the Premier League, and Gallagher was absolutely superb.

His best asset is his high intensity, energy, pressing, and ability to get up and down the pitch all game, and that was so evident once again last night. But he has so much more about his game than just energy, he is turning into the complete midfielder and he is now doing it for club and country.

Chelsea fans will hope he comes back to the squad under Thomas Tuchel this summer and it is almost certain that he will do.

His current boss Patrick Vieira though, will be gutted to see him go and was raving about him once again after their victory last night.

“He surprised me with his finishing, he surprised me with his energy, he surprised me with the way he gets into the box at the right time to score goals,” Vieira says in conversation with Sky Sports.

“He is a team player and this is what I really love about him. He sacrifices himself on the field for the team. I’m glad he gets praise because of the goals that he is scoring but everything he does is good for the team.

“I think one of the areas where he can improve is in channelling his energy.

“He has got so much strength, so much power, so much mobility, but it’s about finding the right time to use his energy.

“Sometimes, I would say, he is making runs he shouldn’t make, when he should keep his energy for the right moments.

“At the same time, you don’t want to take those qualities away from him because of the options he gives you as a manager.

“He is unbelievable, and he is like that in life as well. He gives everything in every relationship with his team-mates and he plays in the same way as he is in his life.”
