Once again he was asked about the situation with Rudiger, with the German international becoming a free agent at the end of June if he does not sign an extension with the club.

You will have got used to hearing all sorts of different rumours regarding this, but it looks like the boss is now pretty confident that his fellow countryman will stay at Stamford Bridge beyond the summer, which will be massive news for him, the fans, and the club.

He showed his importance to the club once again last night, popping up to score another important goal.

“Things are clear. Talks are going on and we are confident,” Tuchel said after the game as reported by The BBC.

“Nothing has changed. Everybody knows the situation, let’s wait and see.

“We have things to offer and he is the player he is in a Chelsea shirt and a Chelsea environment. He knows that very well.”
