There has been a lot of talk recently regarding how many games Chelsea have played this season compared to others around them.
Of course there is no doubt that it has had an effect on recent performances and results, with Chelsea struggling with injuries, Covid-19, and fatigue, and the fixture congestion has just made all that a lot worse.
It would be amazing if you guys subscribed for my project over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, where we are putting out so much Chelsea content including DAILY Newsletters, exclusive news, breaking news, Podcasts, interviews, inside information, and bringing in some massive guests!
Whilst you don’t want to make excuses and at the end of the day this is football and these things can happen and it’s up to the manager and the club to find solutions, but it’s still bound to have a negative effect.
Thiago Silva though, has managed to see a positive spin on the situation and I really like his way of thinking here.
As the oldest player in the club he isn’t shying away from heavy fixture congestion, he is standing up to it and seeing a positive side and in interview yesterday as translated by Absolute Chelsea here..
Thiago Silva:
"This just goes to show how many games in a row we've played, but in reality, they'll have to do the same in the near future. I hope our team can maintain the pace we had, because the most important part of the season is still yet to come."
