(Image): Spurs player escapes red for ankle cruncher in first half

Today’s game against Tottenham has bubbled under the surface, with the first flashpoint coming when Matt Doherty flew into Malang Sarr after the ball was gone, catching the defender on his foot with enough force to roll his ankle.

The Frenchman was in real pain – but despite a VAR check Doherty escaped a red. That had plenty of Chelsea fans furious, and if we don’t go on to win this, many will point back to this as an error in a diabolical refereeing effort in that first half.
