“We can sort it out straightaway” – Thomas Tuchel explains why Chelsea will bounce back

It was certainly a game to quickly forget for Chelsea and a number of our players on Saturday, basically gifting West Ham with all three points.

It was a huge off day for goalkeeper Edouard Mendy, and also the vice-captain Jorginho, who both made unforced errors to give West Ham a couple of goals to help them beat us 3-2.

Chelsea were 2-1 up at half time and the game was ours to give away, which we did just that. We are not used to losing matches this season and even under Thomas Tuchel, but it is so frustrating when we boss the game and then make silly little mistakes. But mistakes do happen, and Tuchel knows we lost due to these mistakes and believes they will ‘sort it out straightaway.’

The Blues boss has been speaking to the Chelsea website, and he says there is no need to question the bigger picture here.

“It’s details and you can always solve the details,” said the boss.

“There is no need to question the big picture and no need for major doubts.

“In my opinion, it’s obvious why we did not have the result that we wanted against Man United and West Ham so it’s about details. That’s why I think we can sort it out straightaway.

“Nobody wants to make mistakes but it won’t help if we just say “hey, don’t make mistakes anymore.” We have to go through it and we need to be better in decision-making in crucial moments of matches to be able to have clean sheets or concede a maximum of one.”
