Chelsea captain Cesar Azpilicueta is now very close to joining Barcelona on a free transfer this summer, according to reports.
The Blues defender will become a free agent this summer and will be able to agree a pre-contract to join the Catalan side from next week if that is what he chooses to do.

And according to Gerard Romero, who has close connections to Barcelona, he is now very close to agreeing a deal to join the Spanish giants at the end of the season.
He says the agreement will be in principle and only ‘personal issues’ could change the course for him now.

It would be surprising if this does transpire to be honest with most other noise suggesting he will be staying at Stamford Bridge. However, he isn’t first choice here anymore so at the same time a move away would not be the last thing anyone expects from him right now either.
