His miscontrol allowed United to score, but he then stepped up to score the penalty to equalise.
According to Thomas Tuchel, the mistake wasn’t entirely his fault.
“He was heavily disturbed by the lights” the coach explained after the Italian’s usually reliable touch failed him.
Honestly, there were other questions to ask – like why the slow midfielder was the last man back at all, when he was never going to have the pace to catch a breakaway.
