Former Chelsea player and then assistant head coach Jody Morris has been speaking out about his time at the club managing alongside Frank Lampard.
Morris has done a Podcast with Jimmy Bullard that has been released this morning, and he has given an honest assessment of his time as a coach at the club, right from back with his success with the U18s and his future plans.
It would be amazing if you guys subscribed for my project over at Si & Dan Talk Chelsea, where we are putting out so much Chelsea content including DAILY Newsletters, exclusive news, breaking news, Podcasts, interviews, inside information, and bringing in some massive guests!
You can find the full episode at Off the Hook Podcast but below I have picked out a couple of interesting quotes.
Morris and Lampard were both sacked by the club back in January to be replaced by Thomas Tuchel, which Morris has acknowledged the benefit of with his words.
But the former Blues midfielder also feels the sacking was ‘super harsh’ at the time and they believed they could have turned things around and deserved the chance to at least try.
"I thought it was super harsh. But if you look now and you see what he [Tuchel] went on to achieve and he is a top-quality manager. But I still thought there was an opportunity for us to turn it around."
