Chelsea’s 7-0 thrashing of Norwich was notable not only for the high scoreline, but also for the identity of the goalscorers.
Academy products Callum Hudson-Odoi, Reece James and Mason Mount scored 5 of the 7, so there of course questions after the game about the Cobham production line.
Thomas Tuchel was full of praise, as you’d expect, and he notably picked out the fact that these guys from the academy are “leaders.” More than just technical talents, they’re humble and hard working. They wouldn’t have made it to the top if they weren’t.
