Over the years there have been some questionable transfer decisions from the Chelsea transfer board, but on the flip side they often get it right as well.
The finest example of this right now is goalkeeper, Edouard Mendy. The Senegal international was absolutely heroic for Chelsea last night as they held on to a 1-0 lead to beat Brentford away.

The home side were piling on the pressure to Chelsea’s goal in the final 15 minutes and although it was uncomfortable to watch for Blues fans, Mendy’s performance was world class.
And to be honest, he has been nothing short of that since he arrived at the club last summer, and what a great signing he has been.
Chelsea had a chance to sign Gianluigi Donnarumma according to transfer reporter Fabrizio Romano, but they turned that down in order to keep their trust in Mendy who will be ‘our goalkeeper for next years.’
Chelsea had the chance to sign Donnarumma as free agent, months ago. The board wanted to trust Mendy as “he’s our goalkeeper for next years too” 🔵 #CFC
