Chelsea hand trial to Welsh under-18 Wonderkid

With Chelsea’s new way of looking at bringing in new youth talent into their academy with the new rules imposed off the back of Brexit, they have taken another young Wonderkid on trail.

According to a report from Goal, Chelsea have handed a trial to 16-year old Wrexham left back, Daniel Davies.

The lad has already been capped for Wales at under-18 level, and Chelsea have a gap to fill in that position so have taken him on a weeks trail as he looks to impress and make the grade at Cobham.

Davies reportedly had trial offers from Liverpool, Brighton and Stoke City. But Chelsea are currently at the front of the queue. There would be no compensation due should Chelsea go ahead and offer him a contract.

This is becoming the norm at Chelsea recently, scouting lower league and non-league teams in search of rising talents to bring into their own academy.
