Chelsea had their open training session followed by their Champions League press conference today, and all the talk in the latter was of the injuries that Thomas Tuchel’s team have.
The session had no Mason Mount, no Christian Pulisic, no Reece James and N’Golo Kante, for various reasons. The mood was understandably a little downbeat.
They always make these open sessions light hearted, but without such key figures there was a definite sense of trepidation among Tuchel’s squad.
Let’s hope they show more confidence out on the pitch proper tomorrow night.
