This has really exploded today since sources started to report Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea potentially being a serious possibility.
All through this saga it appeared that Erling Haaland was the priority for Chelsea, and it also appeared that Inter Milan would not sell Lukaku and he didn’t want to leave.
However, the tide of reports are starting to turn, and the wording in said reports are starting to change and swing towards the fact that this is a deal that might actually seem do-able this summer, at least more do-able than Haaland.
Here is what the latest top sources are saying.
Fabrizio Romano has been very negative on Lukaku to Chelsea the whole way through, but even his tone is changing slightly in his latest report..
Chelsea formal bid for Romelu Lukaku has been confirmed by CFC sources too. €100m guaranteed and Marcos Alonso, turned down as Inter want to keep Lukaku. 🔵 #CFC
Inter expect Chelsea to try again for Lukaku. He’s currently under contract until 2024 – €7.5m net per season.

Sky Italy and Gianluca Di Marzio are now saying that Lukaku has ‘not said no to Chelsea’ and a bid of 120m euros should be enough for Inter to accept.
Chelsea will make a new offer for Romelu Lukaku. Should it reach €120m (£102.5m), it would be very difficult for Inter to say no. Lukaku has not yet said no.

Dean Jones believes that his London contacts are starting to get excited for a Lukaku return and says the deal is advancing.
"Romelu Lukaku to Chelsea is advancing.
“People in London that know lukaku and like lukaku a lot are very excited and are starting to believe that Lukaku is coming back to london."

Whilst Matt Law of The Telegraph reported late last night that Lukaku is now Chelsea’s priority and more likely than Haaland.
