Report: Chelsea will move for £50m striker target as they chose Haaland alternative

Chelsea’s pre-season is well underway now as they partook in their first friendly yesterday, albeit behind closed doors.

The Blues beat Peterborough 6-1 in what was at least a good run out for a number of the fringe players.

Time is ticking on in the transfer window though, and the club are no closer to handing Thomas Tuchel his desired number one target, a new striker, namely Erling Haaland.

However, according to The Sun, they have chosen a new striker to target and they will make a move to sign him.

They claim that Chelsea will make a £50m offer to sign Robert Lewandowski from Bayern Munich as a cheaper alternative to Haaland, who would probably cost around £100m more than that.

The Polish striker has been rumoured to be looking at his options this summer ahead of a potential move away from the club and try a new venture.
