Chelsea and Erling Haaland, a match made in heaven, or something of nothing?
We are still yet to find out, but what is clear is that Chelsea would love to make him their new number 9 this season and beyond, but the saga right now is no closer to a conclusion.
Haaland himself has been asked about the rumour, and as is always the way this time of the year when players get asked about their futures, he was very clever, coy, and a little bit cheeky with his answer.
I’m not saying he is definitely leaving, of course there is every chance he stays at Dortmund. However, if a player is leaving a club and the deal is not close or has even properly started in this case, then a player is hardly going to say he wants to/or is leaving his club.
Haaland’s words could be 100% genuine, I’m not doubting that, but I believe they are also very diplomatic here…
