Chelsea have reignited their interest in signing West Ham midfielder Declan Rice this summer, per The Telegraph.

Thomas Tuchel has put him forward as a potential target this summer, exactly as Frank Lampard had done last summer.

They name the price to be around £90 million should West Ham allow Rice to go, and this fee could well be deemed too high from those at Chelsea.

If it is, and they cannot do a deal, Chelsea have backup options for the defensive midfield targets and one of them is high up the list second to Rice, according to O Jogo.

Benfica midfielder Julien Weigl is next on the list, and Chelsea have already held talks with his representatives, says the report from the Portuguese publication.

Tuchel knows him well from the Dortmund days, and it is Tuchel who is driving this interest.

Rice the priority, Weigl next in line to sum it up, per this report anyway.

  1. Lets repeat again. Thats what you have done in this article. Its not going to happen as was made clear by Moyes yesterday and Declan Rice himself in what he said after the match. 90 million trying for a cut price deal were we ? You know its at 100mill. Still irrelevant isnt happening. Nearly fell asleep reading same old thing.
